Dear APPS UK family
Asalaam o Alikum
On assuming the responsibility as chair of APPS UK I am extremely thankful for the confidence bestowed upon me. It is my great privilege to take the charge as chairman of APPS UK, which is the largest membership organisation of Pakistani health on British soil and has highly motivated team of executive members from UK and Pakistan who are working tirelessly to improve patient care and health care facilities in UK and Pakistan. I am confident that I would be able to continue the great work carried out by all earlier chairmen and take this organisation to further heights with your support and help.
Our vision for 2016 would be as under:
1- Charity Projects:
As our charity wing, APPSUK foundation has been registered now with UK charity comission which will facilitate our efforts to meet our philanthropic goals and we would encourage and support the charity wing to double up its efforts to raise funds by holding fund raising events in the near future so that we compete our current projects and initiate new ones which are in the pipeline such as mobile hospital projects and ambulance service for rural population in Pakistan. I would be happy to hear from you re any suggestion or feedback to guide us through this process.
2- Development of Sub Committee work:
In order to streamline and focus on various areas to improve the organisational functionality and provide opportunities for more members to participate and contribute in the growth of organisation, following sub committees would be developed/reactivated.
A- Teaching and Training Committee
B- Membership Committee
C- Constitution and Bye Law Committee
D- Membership Benefit Packages Committee
E- Communication and Publication Committee
3- E Newsletter
4- E mail Blast System
We would continue to engage all UK based Pakistani Medical College Alumni, BAPIO, GMC, Royal Colleges, Academy of Royal Colleges, NHS England & BMA and try to foster stronger links.
Please feel free to contact me or any of the APPS UK office bearers, If you would like to participate.
Dr Ayaz Asghar
Chair APPS UK
